The 86th successful Taman Pudu Ulu parkrun took place at 7:30am in the Taman Pudu Ulu Park. It was lovely to see the park hosting so many activities early in the morning. People were walking, running, and doing various fitness classes including Thai chi. The park is beautifully maintained with no trace of any litter. This is probably the best utilised park I've yet seen on my parkrun travels. We were told in the detailed 'First timers' briefing this parkrun event would take place on the 'alternative' course. This is a four lap course on concrete paths with an option to run on wooden boards for one section. Conditions were favourable with 25°C temperature, 6km NNW breeze (hardly noticeable), 17% cloud cover and no precipitation (rain). After a briefing by run director Robin Lawrence we set off. 91 People took part. Well done, especially, to the 15 participants doing this event for the first time. Congratulations to the 18 participants who achieved personal bests.
This event was made possible by more than ten volunteers Bethan Cole, Caroline Murray, Edwin Lawrence, Emer Breen, Khay Ann Yeo, Mohd Annas, Phil Southworth, Rupert Lawrence, Seng Wei Yip, Soo Sim Stephanie To and Stacey Ong who did a wonderful job, encouraging participants to do their best. The event was incredibly well organised. Not only was there a professional photographer, there was even someone shouting out elapsed time as participants passed. Thank you to all the volunteers for doing such a great job in each and every role.
Taman Pudu Ulu parkrun event could always do with more volunteers, so why not email the volunteer link on your parkrun event website and offer to help at future events firstname.lastname@example.org It's great fun and helps keep parkrun continuing to flourish. Thank you for making this parkrun event so enjoyable to take part in. Long may you continue. Phil Southworth - Cirencester UK Visiting parkrunner and roving report writer.
