On 14th July we had a total of 57 runners, joggers and walkers for our 14th Taman Pudu Ulu parkrun, including visitors from Singapore, UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. With it being World Cup Final weekend, it was great to see our regular Queensville Rangers runners adorned in various national football team kits. There were 10 new PBs and 11 first timers at our event, including 1 who completed their first ever parkrun.
In first place was our junior runner Ong Hou Seng in a new PB of 21:30, followed by first time visitor from Newcastle UK, David Walker in 21:58 and in third place Paul Jenkins from Australia in 22:49. Vincent Wong was once again our highest age-graded runner finishing in 23:10 in fourth place. Our first female finisher was Natalie Richie, another visitor, this time from Singapore, with a time of 25:49, followed by Zaliza Zulkafli in 27:53 and Pek Yit Choi in 30:38. A special mention also to another of our first time visitors, Pablo Serazio , who was running his 33rd parkrun at his 32nd different parkrun event.
After the finish, we adjourned to the nearby Havva Restaurant for some traditional Malaysian breakfast.
A special thank you to the 10 volunteers, without whom the event would not have been possible: Sheng Yang CHIAM, Roeseann CHONG, John COLE, Gobalakrishna GOVINDASAMY, Kamala Devi KALIAPAN, Tan LORRIN, Aizat MOHD TAIB, Colin MURRAY, Caroline MURRAY, Khay Ann YEO.
